Guns and ganja haul on the North Coast

THREE rifles, a quantity of ammunition and $80,000 worth in marijuana was seized by police in Las Cuevas and Maracas this week.
A Paramin man suspected in several larceny cases, was also arrested.
The exercise was carried out by members of the North Eastern Division Task Force.
Between 5.30 p.m. Monday and 3 a.m. Tuesday the police team searched several locations. At an abandoned lot in Las Cuevas they found a. 38 revolver with two live rounds of ammunition, and a quantity of high grade marijuana known as ‘kush’.
In another area police recovered a 40 calibre pistol with three live rounds of ammunition, and marijuana.
The officers then went to Rincon Road off the North Coast Road and found two AK 47 rifles, another high powered rifle, and 27 live rounds of ammunition.
Police said the marijuana weighed a total of 5.5 kilogrammes with an estimated street value of $80,000.
The suspect, a 30 year old man, is to be interviewed in connection with larceny offences committed in the north eastern and western police divisions.
