Gun drama outside MP Charles’ office

THERE was drama on Thursday night outside the office of the Opposition Naparima Member of Parliament (MP) Rodney Charles when one of the guests at a Divali function, Charles was hosting, was held up at gunpoint and robbed of his $300,000 white Ford Ranger van. The vehicle was found a short while later abandoned in Claxton Bay and has since been impounded at the Chaguanas Police Station as investigations continue. No one has been held.


A police report stated that at about 10.30 pm on Thursday, 55-year-old motor sales representative Nazrudeen Mohammed of Barrackpore, was returning to his vehicle which was parked opposite the MP’s office when he was approached by two gunmen who announced a hold-up and proceeded to rob him of the van before escaping in it.
