Police arrest ‘well known’ drug dealer with $2M weed
Police yesterday hailed the arrest of a 40-year-old well-known San Fernando drug dealer who according to reports was held during an anti-crime exercise in which police seized 35 kilograms of high grade marijuana with a street value of about $2 million.
The suspect with two known addresses — Turney Street, Mon Repos and Marabella was arrested along with a 32-year-old “PH” driver of St John’s Road, Oropouche, a pipefitter, 44, of Rig Road, Claxton Bay, and a 44-yearold female bartender of Moody Stewart Street, Mon Repos.

At about 11.30 am on Monday, police reported that in an exercise co-ordinated and supervised by Snr Supt Irwin Hackshaw and Insp Don Gajadhar and including Sgts Teeluck, Ramroop, Ramlogan, PCs Ali, Moses, Goddard, Rampersad, Gordon and WPC Valdez intercepted a black Nissan Almera car at Turney Street, Mon Repos. Police found hidden in the car 26 kilograms of high grade marijuana with a street value of $1.56 million. It is believed the suspect transported drugs for the drug dealer whose home was subsequently raided and a further nine kilograms of marijuana with a street value of $540,000 found.
