A 23-year-old man is the country’s latest murder victim.
Police are currently on the scene of a homicide where a mentally challenged man was shot and killed this morning.
22-year-old Mossai Porter was gunned down around 9:00 am while waiting with his mother for a taxi at Picton Terrace, John John, Laventille.
Residents said they observed a man of African descent, wearing dark clothing and a bandanna over his face, holding what appeared to be a firearm while he stood over the body of another man.
His mother was not harmed in the shooting.
A team of officers led by Snr Sup Abraham and Sup Mohammed visited the scene.

At this moment police have no official motive for the killing.
His mother said her son was not involved with any gangs but he was mentally ill.

Residents notified police as well as the emergency health services, however, by the time they arrived, Porter had already succumbed to his injuries.
The assailant/s fled on foot.His mother was not harmed in the shooting.
